Portugal Training Camp 7posted by WCDP Manager on26-10-2007
News is good that GBR Team arrived in Poland for Olympic Hopes safe and sound. All key players are there, CZE, RUS, HUN etc etc so the boys will have good experience. Fence started at 8am local time, they are 1 hour ahead. Steven started the competition this morning and his injury (stitches in foot) bound and given ok to compete.
Team in Portugal still in good spirit and start today with 2 hour swim session followed by S & C and fencing footwork. Run this afternoon. Jack and Sam are visiting the physio for regular check ups and icing on sore ankle for Jack(but much better today)and sore knee for Sam, both are still able to train but just taking run sessions at lower intensity today and tomorow.
Yesterday the shoot under competition rules was again exceptional with an overall score average for 13 athletes of 170.3. We have a quiz at the end of each shoot whereby each athlete has to guess the overall average before the scores are announced, yesterday Joelle and Sam got my 5 Euro to split between them! Kate once again being very consistent with another 186, all the others improving by the day and benefiting from training with this group in good facilities.
