Martin Grievesposted by Peter Hart on25-10-2005
Members of the Association will be saddened to learn of the tragic death of Martin Grieves who was one of the 117 passengers and crew who died in the commercial airliner which crashed on an internal flight in Nigeria on Saturday 22 October 2005.
Martin was a modern pentathlete from the Metropolitan Police in which he served for many years with distinction. He was widely respected as a congenial and combative competitor in the 1970's. He contributed much to the Association after his retirement from competition, holding many positions within the MPAGB, including the Chairmanship of the Selection and Management Committee and acting as Team Manager at a number of World Championships in the 1980's.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Martin's family to whom the whole Association sends condolences, Martin will be greatly missed.
